Captain's log-
Refining monitor activity data modelling and designing the feed
What I worked on today
- Focused on data modelling for monitor activity and all related sub-models, ensuring better competitive pricing analysis capabilities.
- Encountered and resolved migration issues, improving the adaptability of pricing intelligence tools.
- Reviewed the database structure, which now feels like a solid foundation for price monitoring software and future features.
- Started working on the activity feed design, still a work in progress, which will enhance retail price intelligence insights.
Lessons learned
- A well-structured database model prevents future headaches and speeds up feature development, especially in competitor price tracking.
- Migration issues can be frustrating, but working through them leads to better insights for e-commerce competitive analysis.
- Completing core modelling work gives a real sense of progress and motivation, especially when it supports online price monitoring.
Challenges faced
- Migration from old data models took some effort, but it’s now resolved.
- Had some issues with my train commute, which was frustrating but manageable.
What’s next
- Continuing with the activity feed development and refining its design to improve pricing intelligence insights.
- Ensuring that monitor activity logging is efficient and scalable for competitor pricing strategy adjustments.
